Women in Technology Campaign kicked off in Rubavu District
On this Wednesday March 13, 2019, the Ministry of ICT and Innovation starts a campaign dubbed Women in Technology Campaign in Rubavu District, Western Province. The campaign aims to approach women in their daily activities in order to understand their challenges vis-a-vis using technology and to help them demystify the existing e-services, ICT access and adoption.
The three-day campaign will be conducted in each of all the twelve sectors of Rubavu District, where more than 700 women are expected to attend the campaign.
The main objective of the Campaign is to empower Women Digitally;
To hear from women on what they really need from Ministry and other stakeholders;
Identify challenges faced by women in rural communities vis a vis ICTs usage and access; which will help to know the way we are addressing their challenges;
Show and help them to be aware of the existing ICT components and their value/role in their daily activities;
Train them on using ICT devices and demystifying the existing ICT components
Encourage them to attend ICT training centers for gaining more knowledge of demystifying technology for more benefits.
Promote digital skills among Women to fast-track the sustainable development
