On Friday 9th November 2018, Smart Africa officially launched the Transform Africa Summit 2019 preparations. The summit which is themed “Boosting Africa’s Digital Economy”, will take place from 7th to 10th May 2019, in Kigali.
Speaking to the participants during the launch, the honor guest: Claudette Irere; the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of ICT and Innovation, guaranteed the government’s support to have a smoothly implemented event.
According to The Permanent Secretary, the event is a decent opportunity for Rwandans to showcase what they have achieved in the field of ICT.
“We look at Transform Africa as a platform to showcase what we as Rwandans have achieved or are currently working on. And this is where the Youth: our startups, businesses get the center stage.” She uttered.
The Permanent Secretary called upon other countries to embark on the platform. “We would like to call on friends; other countries; other member states to also use this platform to showcase what they are working on that can ultimately be benefited by everyone who is attending.”
Talking to the media, the PS acclaimed their work, saying, “If media was not there in the room and really spread the word about this event, we would not be talking about the fifth edition.”
According to the organizers, the forthcoming summit will be youthful and vibrant.
