Mrs. Mbabazi hands over to Maj. Gatarayiha
Today, the outgoing permanent secretary in the Ministry of Youth and ICT, Mbabazi Rosemary handed over to Maj. Gatarayiha François Régis who is the new permanent secretary.
The hand over follows the resolutions of the cabinet meeting that took place on Feb 03rd, 2017 which appointed Maj. Gatarayiha to replace Mbabazi who has been shifted to the Ministry of Trade, Industry and EAC Affairs in the same capacity.
Speaking at the handover ceremony, Mbabazi presented her gratitude to MYICT staff for what they have achieved together in 5 years serving as Permanent secretary.
“I am available to provide more information and support whenever needed,” Mbabazi added speaking to Maj. Gatarayiha.
The incoming permanent secretary said that he is happy to be party of MYICT team though he was somehow part of it while leading ICT department in Rwanda Development Board.
“I am happy to be appointed in the field in which I am not a stranger. The team I joined is capable enough to teach me a lot and achieve more. I am ready to take further what you achieved together with Mbabazi,” PS Gatarayiha said.
Honourable Minister for Youth and ICT, Nsengimana Jean Philbert appreciateed the job done by Mbabazi in 5yrs serving together in the ministry, and promised full collaboration to the incoming Permanent Secretary.
In his prior assignment, Maj. Gatarayiha served as Head of ICT department in Rwanda Development Board (RDB) from July 2015. From December 2011 to July 2015, he was the Director General of Rwanda Utilities Regulatory Authority among others.
Mrs. Mbabazi was appointed the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Youth and ICT in February 2012.
