MITEC Staff celebrate the Labor day
On Tuesday, 1st May 2018, MITEC Staff celebrated the International Labor Day themed “promoting productive employment for rapid development.”
Speaking to the staff, the Minister of Information Technology and Communications; Hon. Jean Jean de Dieu Rurangirwa reminded them to be innovative and productive.
“On this day we evaluate ourselves to see how far we have come and rejoice in what we have achieved. Due to some reasons, you may work hard, but do not get good results: working too hard doesn’t necessarily mean being productive. But for us at MITEC, we are called to be creative to accelerate the development.”
As it was a good opportunity to welcome new staff at the Ministry, The Minister told them that they are expected to be catalysts of progress.
“Few days ago, there was a concern of how to accelerate development with few employees, but now we have new ones whom we hope they are a positive addition to the Ministry. My message is to welcome you (the new staff); feel at ease; you joined a team that has been eager to have you.”
During the yearly celebrated event, Jean Damascene MUKARANI was voted by coworkers as the best employee of the year 2017.
