MITEC and RISA signed performance contract 2018/2019

Today the Minister  of Information Technology and Communications (MITEC), Jean Dieu RURANGIRWA and Innocent B Muhizi: The CEO of Rwanda Information Society Authority (RISA); The Ministry’s implementing Agency, signed performance contract,  which highlights activities to be conducted during the fiscal year 2018/2019.

Speaking to the representatives of both institutions, the Minister called upon them to work collaboratively so that they achieve the targets under the ICT Sector performance contract that will exponentially contribute to the development of the country.

“To achieve the targets of the performance contract signed, we have to work hard; more than we did last year. We should revisit how we work with our partners and how we implement our activities to promote ICT sector.” Said the Minister.

Some of expected outputs include digitization of more Government’s services to increase the accessibility of Government’s online services, the increase of National cybersecurity awareness, and establishment of One Government Network.

The signing of the contract is backed by the Article 13 of Law No 18/2017 of 28/04/2017 governing results-based performance management in branches of the Government, which states that “the performance contract of the organ is concluded between the head of the organ and its supervising authority”. This implies that MITEC is the supervising authority of RISA according to the provision of this law.
