Ministry of Youth and ICT launches YouthConnekt Month

Minister Nsengimana called on youth to use their strength contributing to the development.
The Ministry of Youth and ICT in partnership with National Youth Council and other players in youth sector, today on 7/11/2015, have officially launched the YouthConnekt Month and Youth in Holidays program. Themed “Youth, strive for self-reliance for fast development”, YouthConnekt Month will run from 2-26 November 2015, while Youth in holidays program will run from 2 November-24 December 2015. Officiating at the launch of YouthConnekt Month and Youth in Holidays program in Muhanga District, Southern Province, the Minister of Youth and ICT, Jean Philbert Nsengimana called on youth to use their strength contributing to the development. “Use your strength to develop your families and your country as well,” said Minister Nsengimana. He went on reminding students that holidays are their opportunities to provide their contribution to the sustainable development. Minister Nsengimana urged players in youth sector to put more emphasis in developing the youth. He called on Faith Based Organisations to teach and sensitise their followers, especially youth, to use ICT in their daily activities. Smaragde Mbonyintege, Bishop of Kabgayi Diocese and President of the Episcopal Conference of Rwanda asked youth to participate in YouthConnekt Month and Youth in Holidays program as they will learn new things that will contribute to shaping their future. The launch was marked by a community work where thousands of Catholic Church young followers were joined by government officials and development partners in planting fruits seedlings and maintaining the road in Shyogwe Sector, Muhanga District.
