About: In line with the Rwandan objective of transforming its economy from an agrarian economy to a knowledge based one; the ministry of ICT and innovation is developing an open data portal that will improve transparency, accountability and public participation. As recommended by the data revolution policy, the open data portal should gather all public data and store them on a centralized portal that is easily accessible by everyone including software developers that are willing to use that data in developing smart applications. The open data portal will link data publishers to data consumers.
Timeline: The portal will be launched by end January 2021
Objectives: Rwanda open data portal will display all insensitive data to be accessed and used by other Institutions, citizens, researchers and software developers among others. The Open data has the ability to generate new jobs by revolutionizing services rendered by both public or private sectors.
